This is the first single touted for release from the new Spoon album Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga (why not just call it 5Ga’s). It starts with a rather percussive piano part which lays the foundation for the whole song as it meanders here and there with some reverb saturated vocals playing back and forth. I’m not quite sure what to make of it as it sounds like the intro to something that never really develops, and I’m left waiting for the song to start. The video itself is a nice abstract montage of clips, sprinkled with tasteful effects, nothing too extraordinary. Spoon has been one of the more consistently good bands of the last 10 years so this is a pretty highly anticipated album, due out on July 25th. You can pre-order it from their website.
