Well I am proud to say that for a short while I played in a band with the great Eric Royer. He is one of the most talented fellas I know, and here is a pretty nice little documentary about him. Eric plays as a one man band, incorporating numerous guitar machines he has constructed himself. He was just starting this when we both lived in Tucson, and it has come a long ways, as you’ll see in the video.

That is wonderful. I thought the days of the one man band at least in the mechanical non-electronic way was a thing of the past. If I just heard it I would have never believe it was one man. His gadgets really seem to fit right in with the tradition of homemade or home rigged instruments in American roots music.
