Ready set go. This is probably going to be one of the most interesting releases of early 2007. Amon Tobin’s Foley Room is a real masterpiece (what I’ve heard so far) of collected sound samples mixed with real musicians and remixed by Amon into the final product. The title Foley Room is a nod to the room where film sound effects create audio effects for movies, and indeed Tobin travelled the country recording portions of the album in foley rooms. The final release will include a dvd showing some of the recording process. I encourage you to visit Amon’s website as it is truely an amazing piece of Flash programming (you can hear some sound samples there as well). Below are two trailers from the DVD for the release.
