So I was digging around youtube and uncovered this old gem of John Fahey playing a tv appearance from 1969. Much more than an incredible guitar player, he was such a beautiful composer, and really paints a picture that evokes Americana at it’s finest. I have my old man to thank for turning me on to Mr. Fahey at a very young age, his tunes still take me back to a time that seems long in the past, and yet still sound just as important.

God damn Tom Jenkins is amazing. Granted maybe I’m biased as I have been a bass player for almost 20 years now, and he is certainly a monster of a bass player. check out this video of a recent performance in support of his new album. He combines this bass virtuosity with a solid use of supporting electronics to create a really stunning musical vehicle. Also check out the interview.
